The Lake Placid venue was the Olympic hockey rink which is really quite small. One level of seating surrounding the floor. No more than 30 rows to the back of the rink. I think it seats 7,000, add the floor and you might get up to 8500-9000.

Shows there lately bring every manner of the law, from state, county and village, with the possibility of the border patrol being nearby if they need to search without warrants. I wonder if it was the same in '83?

Used to live in Saranac Lake. Would have loved to have seen the 83 show!

i have posted way too much about Lake Acid, but since you guys want to know...

i can't recall the presence of any police or even much in the way of any security (???) and a long ways from the border my girlfriend and i crossed earlier that day...an exceptionally beautiful drive through the mountains in mid October (underestimated the time for the drive, but luckily the band was as late as we were!)
